Head Teacher's Welcome
I am delighted to welcome you to Stroud Green Primary School's website! Here, new and prospective parents and families should get an insight into the school, while our existing community can find practical information such as diary dates and class activities.
I took over as Head Teacher in January 2017 and since then have been busy putting the school on the local map! I have been so warmly welcomed into the community and am proud to be the Head Teacher of such a brilliant school.
I believe children learn best when they are enjoying themselves, and when what they study is targeted to their needs and interests. I have been working with the staff team to build a new and creative curriculum designed around engaging topics. The learning is embedded in real life experiences and I encourage all staff to take children out and about to enrich what they are discovering in the classroom.
Our school ethos is around helping children to grow into successful, happy and kind people. Individuals who feel part of society, understand their role in the world and have attained the academic successes, social skills and behaviour to prepare them for life after Stroud Green - in secondary school and beyond.
Building strong relationships with parents and families is also an important aspect of our work and ethos. The school sits at the very centre of the community, offering the services to families that they need to support their busy lives. We have therefore opened a new nursery offering places to children from 1 to 4 years old. From Reception up to Year 6, we offer breakfast clubs, after-school activity clubs and also after-school childcare. The school is open 48 weeks a year offering services from 7.45am until 6pm.
